Today we did a Lake Maggiore tour to the 3 islands in the lake, Isola Madre, Isola Pescatore and Isola Bella.
Every tour operator on the lake does this tour and there is also a public transport system. We did ours through the Palazzo Regina. Our boat was one of many basic boats taking 20 people or so to the islands.
This is the shot of the Palace from the boat.
More beautiful scenes
I lit a candle for mum. Maybe said a prayer.
More beautiful photos on this beautiful island.

This is a photo from the boat looking up to the Swiss Alps with snow. Amazing. We are closer to Switzerland than we are to Florence or Rome.
The first of the Islands was Isola Madre (means mother). It is a privately owned island and you have to pay to tour the Palazzo. So we didnt. This is the wharf where we could have gotten off had we wanted to pay.
Next stop was Isola Pescatore which was free to explore and was a little village catering mainly it eemed to tourists. Maybe they fish as well, hence the name. There were lots of little alleyways sthrough to shops and the other side of the island. So cu.

And then to Isola Bella which means beautiful which it was. We decided to get off for only a short time and not pay to do the additional tour of the palazzo on the island.
I lit a candle for mum. Maybe said a prayer.

A truly beautiful place island is Isola Bella. The boat left every 30 minutes to each island. We were not the only people to do the non-additional paying tour. There was another group that did exactly what we did and spent exactly the same time on each island.
And then back to our Palazzo in Stresa. Just a few more photos of our private beach with chairs and the public beach, without chairs.
I rarely take toilet photos but the 'bagno' in the hotel is amazing, from the sign on the door
to the individual heaters in each cubicle.
While in the hotel, I took this panorama shot of the lobby.
And one of the lifts has a chair outside it so you can sit whilst waiting for the lift.
We found another cute restaurant/pizzeria for dinner and had more pizza.
Stresa is beautiful but the islands are even more beautiful. In fact the islands are incredible.
