Day 16: Stressless in Stresa

Tuesday 30/7/19
Today really yesterday, we decided to change all our travel plans. Originally the plan was to hire a car to drive from Stresa to Torgiano.

But we realised that this was halfway across Italy and 5.5 hours at Italian speeds so maybe 7-8 hours with breaks for us.  Too much.
So we looked at trains and hiked to the train station to organise tickets.
Simple really. Our new journey tomorrow will involve a taxi to station with all our luggage, then train from Stresa to Milano, then train to Florence, then train to Perugia then taxi to Perugia airport to get our car. Then  drive to Torgiano.

After our trek to the station,  we had a relaxing day round the pool.

Somewhere it says in the brochures that this place has a heated pool. That is a lie.  The outdoor pool is freezing as is the outdoor spa. That was a surprise when i first got into the spa.  Freezing water straight from the Swiss alps

And then to the indoor pool which i assumed would be heated.  MAybe it was slightly less freezing than the outdoor pool and the indoor spa maybe slightly less freezing than the outdoor one.  But not much.

They don't seem to get the concept of a hot spa and the health benefits.
For our last night in Stresa,  we went to a high end restaurant recommended by Trip Advisor
called La Stresa.  IT was amazing food with great service.

A nice way to end our stay in Stresa. An incredible meal
